Jupiter MicroLite JP-107 is the ancestor of the state-of-the-art Jupiter Orion and Jupiter Melody water ionizers. It has all the important functions of these more expensive units but made affordable enough for the tightest budget.Once connected to the faucet this compact countertop unit can produce alkaline water by a push of a button. Concentrating the naturally occurring alkaline minerals in tap water is a simple two step process. The Jupiter MicroLite also has the ability to make acidic water for anti-bacterial use.
The BioStone filter
By default all Jupiter MicroLite units come equipped with the 5-stage 0.1 micron granulated, silver-impregnated carbon filter, the BioStone .1M. The BioStone filters, introduced in Jupiter MicroLite JP107 in 2005, became the new standard filter technology for Jupiter Water Ionizers. Jupiter MicroLite models upgraded with 0.01 micron BioStone ultrafilters are available here.The BioStone filters contain a semi-precious crystal, Turmaline. Turmaline is a pyroelectric mineral used in infrared radiation detectors. Turnaline microcrystals are electrically charged natural dipoles that absorb and emit infrared waves. Turmaline “softens up” water by increasing ORP. What this leads to is a natural ionization/alkalinization even if you don’t turn on the device.
Besides assisting alkalization and combating impurities in water, the BioStone filters also contain a natural alkaline base, Coral Calcium. While Coral Calcium does not cure or treat any disease in itself, and in general, is not better than purified calcium carbonate, it does, like any calcium carbonate base, have the ability to remove excess fluoride from water. It also assists ionization when naturally occurring alkaline minerals are lacking in the water source.
